Fitzsimons Innovation Community stands on the grounds that once held the Fitzsimons Army Hospital, where soldiers returning from World War I were treated. The Colorado high altitude has always been a destination for advancements in lung treatment, and 100 years ago, soldiers sought cures for tuberculosis and mustard gas exposure right here.
After the Army decommissioned the hospital in the 1990s, ideas for the current University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and Fitzsimons Innovation Community began to percolate. That rich history of discovery, care, and research continues to inspire our vision a century later.
You know best when it comes to your projects, and we know how to keep you up and running with first-class scientific facilities management and community engagement. Our priority is to help you thrive on this campus and we have the proven tools and expertise to make that happen.

A: I enjoy fishing, going to live sporting events and concerts, and spending time with my grandson.
A: Many people search for a job that aligns with their values and passion in life. I love that Fitzsimons Innovation Community is this place for me. I get to work alongside great people and support a community of innovators who themselves are mission-driven and working every day to improve lives.
A: If I am not on the soccer fields, you'll find me studying for my Masters degree in organizational leadership or enjoying time with my husband, Greg, and two high school kids, Ella and Nathan.
A: I enjoy working with a supportive team. People are at the center of Fitzsimons Innovation Community and maintaining this supportive, team-oriented culture is important in everything we do.

A: Being a Colorado native, I'm part of an avid camping, boating, and RZR'ing family who loves to play in the mountains, lakes, and anywhere our beautiful Colorado outdoors takes us. I enjoy photography and spending time with my husband, friends, and four dogs.
A: I love to see the new development and hear about the history of this location.
A: When I'm not at the office, my husband and I enjoy being sports parents. When we're not at the rink or on the field, we hike with our two dogs while our son practices his mountain biking skills.

A: It’s hard to decide on a favorite thing as there is so much I like about being at Fitzsimons Innovation Community. The work we do is interesting and varied. The people I work directly with are awesome. If I had to pin down my favorite thing though, it would be that collectively we are supporting the evolution and advancement of patient care. While we don’t do the research ourselves, we are instrumental in creating an environment where our brilliant and creative companies thrive and push the boundaries of science.
A: I enjoy watching and playing competitive sports, riding my Harley, and spending time in the great outdoors.
“The workspace has been perfect for our projects, but the most impressive thing to me has been the community. We’ve collaborated with researchers from the CU Anschutz Medical Campus, networked with other Fitzsimons Innovation Community members, and bounced ideas off some of the best minds in healthcare. And it’s all contributed to us moving forward in our research.”

“I park my car in the morning, and then I never move it until I leave after work. We walk to lunch and meetings and take advantage of the outdoor space as much as we can during the day. Work-life balance happens right on campus.”
