Colorado’s health and life sciences industry gets a nationwide spotlight.
By: Fitzsimons Innovation Community
If it has to do with health and innovation in Colorado, Fitzsimons Innovation Community is bound to be a part of it. We are especially proud to be an Innovator Partner in our state’s life sciences ecosystem campaign: Colorado Hub for Health Impact. This campaign brings together more than 20 Colorado organizations to promote the benefits of working, living, and discovering in Colorado to a national audience. The campaign is spreading the word about how our excellent infrastructure, lab and manufacturing space, and outstanding academic and research institutions make the perfect home for life sciences companies of all sizes.
Promoting what makes Colorado great for our current and future Community members is something we’ve been doing all along, but this campaign allows us to showcase how we collectively drive breakthroughs for patients, from leading-edge research to life-saving technologies.
Our investment into this campaign is uniquely aligned with our mission of working on the leading edge of health and care. We’re already a thriving home for so many innovative and groundbreaking health and life sciences organizations; it would only make sense that we work to bring even more visionaries to our great state.
At Fitzsimons Innovation Community, we focus on three important organizational principles:
- We seek to attract early-stage, emerging, and established life sciences companies with a readily available talent pipeline.
- We nurture these organizations, allowing them to concentrate on the important work they’re doing.
- We partner with the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus to accelerate our Community members’ growth and innovation.
These core principles align closely with—and were a big part of shaping—the critical factors of the Colorado Hub for Health Impact campaign:
- Talent and Inclusivity: Our highly educated and diverse population is a draw for organizations considering Colorado for their headquarters or branch offices.
- Lifestyle and Culture: From skiing, hiking, and golf to top pro sports teams to world-class museums and theater, the Colorado lifestyle helps companies recruit and retain talent.
- Location and Real Estate: Often less expensive than the coasts, and with amenities to spare, relocating to Colorado has so many advantages.
- Capital and Growth: Investors have been paying attention to what makes Colorado great for business, and they’re putting their dollars to work here. We have a seven-year streak of more than $1 billion raised by life sciences organizations each year.
- Community and Infrastructure: With an abundance of academic and research partners, a modern infrastructure, and a welcoming spirit, Colorado is a natural home for innovators to make their next discoveries.
- Costs and Incentives: Colorado legislators and leaders are consistently implementing advancements that make our state more business-friendly for all types of organizations, from startups to the Fortune 500.
From the start, Fitzsimons Innovation Community has worked to bring innovators to our state and our Community. We know why people live and work in Colorado, and partnering with the Colorado Hub for Health Impact campaign allows us to spread that message even further. You’ll hear more about the Colorado Hub for Health Impact campaign on our site and in our communications in the coming months.
