The former Fitzsimons Golf Course was designed around dramatic views to the Rocky Mountains. These views are preserved and enhanced in the development vision for the Fitzsimons Innovation Community. A vibrant, inviting urban center with new and redeveloped retail, residential, and a boutique hotel connected by dynamic public spaces. The largest academic health care center in the Rocky Mountain region, nationally recognized as leaders in interdisciplinary teaching, research and clinical facilities. The new state-of-the-art VA Hospital includes three outpatient and two inpatient clinic buildings, a diagnostic treatment center and a research hub. Scranton Boulevard is planned as a Nobel Laureate Promenade connecting the Fitzsimons RTD Transit Station and Sand Creek Regional Greenway to the Campus Center and CU Research Quad. A community designed to accelerate innovation with leasable laboratories, research bays, open offices, office suites and flexible warehouse and distribution space. Racine Street is a primary north/south bicycle, pedestrian and automobile connection linking Anschutz Medical Campus to Fitzsimons Station and Sand Creek Regional Greenway. It is envisioned to integrate water quality and a community-wide drainage system within a beautifully landscaped park, which will run the length of the Innovation Community, providing an amenity to all buildings along its frontage. The re-invented Fairway No. 15 forms a central open space integrating existing trees and mountain views, providing open space frontage to development throughout this district. Scranton Boulevard is planned as a Nobel Laureate Promenade connecting the Fitzsimons RTD Transit Station and Sand Creek Regional Greenway to the Campus Center and the CU Research Quad. Providing 20-minute connections to either Denver International Airport or the heart of downtown Denver and Union Station. One of the campus’ primary east-west connectors, 23rd Avenue will run through the heart of the innovation community and is intended to be one of the highest trafficked streets on campus. The Peoria district, defined by 23rd, is envisioned as a Gateway into the Innovation Community from North Aurora and Denver.
